We will see each other again in 2024 between 15 and 20 March

Thanks for this year!

Are you ready for Trondheim Seafood Festival?

The second edition of the Norway Seafood Festival will kick off from 15-20 March 2024, and we are looking forward to repeat the success!

Norway Seafood Festival was arranged for the first time on 2-4 March 2023 in Trondheim. The festival is a celebration of Norwegian and local seafood. Restaurants, institutions, canteens, schools and kindergartens contributed to a great festival that engaged the whole region.
The seafood festival is much more than excellent food experiences. The festival is also an arena for learning. As part of the Children’s Seafood Festival, among others, Trondheim Science Centre, Geitmyra Credo and SeeSalmon have contributed to the spreading of knowledge about marine biodiversity and the ocean as food soruce.
The answer to our future food security lies in the sea and the festival wants to involve seafood producers, groceries and the restaurant industry to promote the importance of this message.
Sign up for our newsletter and stay up to date on what you can experience during next year’s seafood festival. We are looking forward to seeing you there.

Seafood festival coming to Trondheim!

The Norway Seafood Festival will be held in Trondheim for the first time from 2 to 4 March 2023. Here you will be able to feast on wonderful delicacies from the sea.

Norway and Trøndelag have the world’s best seafood, and during the festival week it will be given center stage. Come eat, experience, explore and learn.

At the Seafood Festival, there will be seafood in all places. The city will be buzzing with activities and the menus will be full of the best the sea has to offer – even in the middle of the seafood season.

Because it is at this time of year, when the sea is really cold, the seafood is at its very best. The skrei (Atlangtic cod) spawn along the Norwegian coast, the fish are firm and tasty and the shellfish are in full vigour. At the same time, the sun has begun to shine over our city, and there are brighter times ahead. The timing couldn’t be more perfect for a seafood festival!

Come and let yourself be seduced by delicious dishes that delight the senses. Here, the raw materials will get the attention they deserve, and there will be room for both new and traditional seafood.

The seafood festival is also where you can challenge yourself and taste delicacies you never imagined you would eat. Maybe this will be the week you eat sea urchin for the first time? We will do our best to make it taste so good that it will be an experience you won’t soon forget.

The food served will be prepared by young culinary talents as well as established star chefs. As Norway’s food capital, Trondheim is full of talented chefs and fantastic eateries. In combination with the world’s best raw materials from the sea, we will also attract visits from celebrity chefs and foodies.

Ravnkloa and Clarion Hotell at Brattøra will be the center for many activities. A seafood market will be set up with both familiar and new products. Here you can choose from fantastic ingredients. Local seafood producers will naturally be in focus, and there will be tempting tastings.

The seafood festival will also be an arena for learning. Knowledgeable chefs will inspire and show you what you need in order to prepare new and exciting seafood at home. Fast, good and affordable.

Here you will also be able to attend cooking shows, lectures, research, and participate in activities and experience the good festival atmosphere. There will also be concerts and other cultural events that you can experience while enjoying delicious seafood.

During this long weekend at the beginning of March, the city’s eateries will offer seafood experiences aplenty – whether you visit a food truck or a five-star restaurant.

The beverages served with the food will also get the attention they deserve, and we can promise a lot that deserves a toast.

Come eat, experience, explore and learn!

Together we will celebrate seafood!

PS! We should eat more seafood, not just because it’s good, but because it’s good for your health, the environment and it is sustainable. With more and more people on earth and climate challenges, the sea and the ocean are a very important part of the solution in the green shift. We are proud that Norwegian seafood is an important part of this.
