-The Norway Seafood Festival and the seafood market will be a great start to the seafood year 2024.

So says Emil Fjeldberg Elshaug, sales and marketing manager at Garnviks Røkeri.

The smokery from Frøya in Trøndelag produces different types of smoked salmon and trout, as well as cured salmon and herring. Since its establishment in 2014, the smokehouse has developed into a strong brand, consistently prioritizing the creation of new flavors.

– We come to the seafood market with well-known favorites such as herring and smoked salmon. Garnviks Røkeri is launching a new product this year called Laksegodt. This is a salmon topping that pairs perfectly with a slice of bread, and we are eager to introduce it at the seafood market. It will, of course, be possible to taste and purchase Laksgodt to take home with you, says Fjeldberg Elshaug.

Hoping to win
Garnviks Røkeri has won several awards and a medal at the NM Seafood competition. In 2019, the seafood producer won a gold medal at the Norwegian championship for its hot-smoked salmon.

Fjeldberg Elshaug is aiming for a podium position this year at the Norway Seafood Festival’s awards ceremony.

An award would be of great value to us, and will allow us to stand out. In the jungle of different products, customers tend to choose products that have some sort of recommendation or prize on their label, according to Fjeldberg Elshaug.

He hopes the award ceremony will contribute to increased attention to seafood products.

– The products that are included in the Norwegian championship are world class. The fact that the award ceremony will take place for the first time in connection with the Norway Seafood Festival is a unique opportunity to create a celebration around the best Norwegian seafood has to offer, concludes Fjeldberg Elshaug.
